What we’ve been up to this month…
We have been looking into the theme of under the sea exploring all things from animals and their habitats to recycling and understanding the importance of caring for our environment. The children have particularly enjoyed reading the book “what a waste”.
We thoroughly enjoyed celebrating all of our 2026 pre-school leavers during our party week. We have danced, sang and bounced on the bouncy castle. We are super proud of our school leavers- we can’t wait to hear about all the fun you are going to have at school!

What’s happening next month…
We are going to be exploring the theme “all about me” where we look at ourself, our families and everything that makes us who we are.
This month we will be celebrating international day of charity where we will look at the importance of caring for others and doing kind things for those that need it.
Activities we will do at nursery:
- We will be looking at and celebrating all of our differences
- Exploring our letter and sound pots in the pre-school room
- Roleplaying different occupations
- Creating ourselves out of playdough using skin tone paints
- Handprint friendship trees
- Decorate a photo frame

September Preschool focus:
We will welcome our next pre-school cohort into daily sessions in our pre-school space led by Evie and Fran where they will explore the focus for the month being letters and sounds. We will be going back to basics to really lay the foundations for their pre-school readiness over the next few months.
We will embed the routine of exploring the days of the week, the weather and completing the register at the beginning of each session. If you have any questions regarding your little ones pre-school year please contact us and we can support you through this exciting process.
Some ideas to do at home:
- Practicing the days of the week and remembering the correct order
- Explore simple letter sounds by exploring the starting sound in short simple words
- Play Orchard games at home
- Build lollypop stick homes
- Explore family photo’s
- Practice drawing yourself using a mirror
