About our environment

With over 20 years of experience watching children play and learn, we have a clear vision of what the environment needs to be for children to learn. Each of our Nurseries have been purposely designed with great outdoor space, cosy snug areas, creative stations, dining rooms and so much more. The environment we have created is to enable all children to learn and explore in a safe, light, bright, clean, inspiring place.

Outside Environment

Garden & outdoor covered areas

Our garden has an outdoor all weather covered area for messy play, construction and physical activities. Children can run, jump, cycle, scoot or hide in the den’s they have built. Children can grow their own plants and vegetables, or make mud pies in the mud kitchen.

The Sandpit

Children have fun while making sand castles, pouring, measuring, problem solving, communicating with friends, using gross and fine motor skills. While playing in the sand, the learning opportunities are simply endless.

The Vegetable Garden

The best way to encourage your child to eat vegetables is to grow them, at nursery the children plant, nurture and care for the vegetables until they are ready to pick and have for their snacks.

Baby & Toddler Room

As babies and toddlers learn through their senses, our play areas include a variety of tactile and sensory activities – along with singing and circle times. This environment is cosy and friendly including areas to climb, crawl, paint or snuggle in for a story.

Dining Room

Meal times are extremely important, so our dining room serves heathy food and drinks throughout the day. Children take great pride in preparing and serving their own meals, taking as much time as they need while learning so much in every area of the EYFS.

Pre-School Classroom

This is a place for rising 3 year olds and pre-schoolers to focus in small groups or individually. Our interactive board lets children practice writing and explore educational games. Our Early Years teacher also plans activities that are age and stage appropriate.

Main Room

Our Main Room is suitable for two to five year olds. It is full of fun stimulating toys and activities. These include puzzles, building blocks, art’s and crafts, mark making, small world, cars, trains and so much more. The learning opportunities are endless.

Sleep Areas

Children need a quiet place to rest, each with their own bedding or sleep bag, named and washed every week. A team member stays in the area while children sleep, making sure they feel safe and secure. When they wake someone is there for them.

The Snug

Role play and stories are at the heart of this heuristic and sensory play area. Children have the opportunity to explore different textures, scents and feelings, as well as new concepts helping to develop friendships, promote communications skills and creativity.

To everyone at 3 gables I would like to say a big thank you, you made us feel comfortable and for me personally being able to drop our children into your care and feel 100% that they are safe and being cared for was a priceless experience.
